Eating and Drinking Outdoors:
Breakfast… Sit at one of the little wrought-iron tables outside Sant Ambroeus, order the citrus salad with yogurt foam and a latte, enjoy the sparkling quaintness of West Village before everyone hogs the streets.
Morning Snack…grilled corn and a café con leche on ice on the bench outside Café Habana on Elizabeth St before heading over to check out the Young Designers Market.
Lunch…hot dogs and ice cold Corona at the Frying Pan OR fava bean salad at Morandi OR both. Frying Pan could lead to Rusty Knot, which is not outside but very nautical and has good dark’n’stormy’s.
Ice Cream…Laboratorio di Gelato in LES for a scoop of grapefruit campari sorbet or anything chocolate, followed by visit to Foley and Corinna for a summer dress.
Afternoon cocktail… a glass, uh, or bottle, of Lambrusco at Another Room in Tribeca
Dinner…the patio at 5 Ninth (never crowded) OR tacos outside La Esquina (depending on how sloshed one is after a day of drinking outdoors) OR lobster rolls in the back garden at Mermaid Inn– UH-mazing!
